The Order of Christian Initiation Program (OCIA) is a program that welcomes men and women into the Catholic Church. Every individual is guided by the priest and an OCIA support team through every stage. Members begin by forming a relationship with Jesus Christ and learning about the Catholic Church. OCIA catechumens and candidates then begin to study scripture and gain a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith and beliefs. Catechumens and candidates may then consult with the priest to receive the initiation sacraments of Baptism, Holy Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation. Once the new Catholic has received these sacraments and has become a member of the Church, a period of reflection takes place.
If interested in OCIA, please contact the Parish Center at 412-672-9641, or Deacon Reynold at 412-849-1235 or by email at [email protected].
