Reconciliation is often referred to as Confession or Penance.  All three names highlight an aspect of this sacrament, which is God's mercy and forgiveness of sins committed after Baptism. Through Reconciliation our relationship with God and the Church is repaired.  Only a bishop or priest may administer this sacrament.
